RENTAL RATES & TERMS:

The MCA Main Gallery is centrally located on Main Street Montgomery and is a wonderful location for your next community event, class or workshop, or private function. The historic Greek Revival Hall is a picturesque locale for a wedding, memorial service, business meeting, potluck, seminar, painting workshop, yoga class, and more.

The MCA sponsors programming that is free and open to the public at NO CHARGE to the event host, please contact the MCA Board of Directors on their website by submitting a form at www.montgomerycenterforthearts.com/application if you would like to offer a Free Community Program. (Exception: Political campaigning events are not eligible for MCA sponsorship and should refer to the rental rates for use of the space.)

We encourage renters to consider offering an MCA HOSTED EVENT, by which the Renter opts to split proceeds from this event 50/50 with the MCA. Doing so will waive the rental fee and 50% of the proceeds from the event will go into the MCA General Fund. This option will include MCA paid-for posters, advertising, and distribution of promotional material; set-up and break-down assistance as needed, and consideration for funding support of classroom/event materials by request.

If a Renter prefers the option to host an event/class/workshop independently, the MCA respects that decision and strives to offer a reasonable affordable rate for use of:

  • $15 for 1 consecutive hour of use plus a ½ hour for setup and a ½ hour for cleanup (total of 2 hours)

  • $40 for 3 consecutive hours of use plus a ½ hour for setup and a ½ hour for cleanup (total of 4 hours)

  • $70 for 6 consecutive hours of use plus a ½ hour for setup and a ½ hour for cleanup (total of 7 hours)

(Applications for private longer-term uses of the spaces are subject to tailored rates and conditions based on the discretion of the Board.)

The MCA is an independent non-profit that incurs significant operational expenses with modest income from donors, rental uses, and grant requests. We are a fully volunteer organization with no paid employees. In order to keep the building open and running year-round, we are obliged to charge for use of the space. Please know that your rental fee is being used for heat, electricity, wifi, and administrative organization-related expenses that keep the space available to the public. We do not have paid employees, so all proceeds go directly to MCA needs. Without the income from rentals, we do not have the funds necessary to continue to provide this space to the public. Thank you for your interest and participation.

FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION:

  • At the discretion of the Board, your event may require a deposit based on the number of participants, nature of the event, and time-of-year.

  • The MCA Main Level Gallery has 1 bathroom, wifi, and an assortment of solid and folding chairs, folding tables, and a projector and screen at the disposal of patrons.

  • A verified DLC Event License and DLC Certified Bartender is required for any event that serves or distributes alcohol. Prior approval by the Board is required for such an event.

  • We ask that renters secure their reservation by signing the Contract For Use that will be provided to you and supply payment at least two weeks prior to the event/class. A renter is entitled to a full-reimbursement for cancellation of an event/class with more than 7 days notice. If you would like to opt for this recourse, you can do so in the Contract for Use. Participants will register and pay on the MCA website and your email will be directly linked to the registration form to provide you with up-to-date information on registrants. The collected fees will be disbursed to you in full on a payment schedule that reflects your class schedule (one-time, weekly, biweekly). The MCA will absorb the credit card processing fees on your behalf.

  • Event insurance may be required by the MCA depending on attendance, occasion, and circumstance. Renters insurance is not required, but is recommended.

SPONSORSHIP OPTION:

The MCA aims to support access to our programming for all demographics and income levels of our community.

We offer a SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM available to patrons of MCA HOSTED EVENTS. The scholarship can either partially or in-full sponsor attendance for income sensitive participants. If you have a student, attendee, or patron who you feel could benefit from a scholarship in order to better enable attendance of your program, you can request an application from your assigned MCA Agent or your student can click HERE to submit a request.

--------------------------------------------------

PLEASE NOTE: The MCA Scholarship is not available to attendees of private classes or workshops that rent the MCA for independent use. We encourage renters who are teaching a class or workshop, or hosting a fee-based event, to consider offering an income sensitive rate for those community members who may need it or to reserve a select number of spaces within your class/workshop/event at a reduced fee or free admission.

**Rates are subject to annual evaluation and may change according to Board vote.**
