Family Fire Skills

It is my opinion that fire should be taught and revered even before an intro to the ABC’s. This class is geared toward a family setting. All skill levels and ages are welcome. We’ll end with fire related stories around our fire.

About the event

It is my opinion that fire should be taught and revered even before an intro to the ABC’s.  This class is geared toward a family setting.  We will go over several different techniques to safely wield fire, including a one match fire without paper, flint and steel, char cloth, tinder bundles, and how our ancestors carried embers in polypore mushrooms.  All skill levels and ages are welcome.  We’ll end with fire related stories around our fire. Elliot is the owner of Herbs and Arrows. He is a wilderness and primitive skills instructor, holistic health coach, herbalist, and martial arts instructor.  He has been teaching children ages 4 - teenagers, as well as adults for 15 years.  6 of those years were spent offering homeschool education to his children and the local community in the Champlain Valley of VT.  He is originally from the great town of Montgomery, and currently lives in Enosburg with his wife and two daughters.
